It all started on April Fool’s Day 2008. My wife’s gentle provocation and Abraham’s six-tiered plea conspired to boot me into the blogosphere and it’s been a wild ride ever since.
To sum up what we’re about here at The Fool’s Gold, I’ve adopted the phrase “sifting and gifting.” I’ll explain what I mean:
I view us (that’s you and me) like a bunch of prospectors sitting on their haunches at the stream’s edge, scouring their pans of sediment for flecks of gold. During any given week, we’ll saunter down to the chuckling waters of communication, dip our rusty pans into the current of books, blogs, life, or language, come up with a mound of ideological silt, and start sifting. Now I don’t claim any particular skill, which is why I need your keen eye. There’s a lot of fool’s gold in this stream, you know.
Gifting
At the beginning of each month, we’ll celebrate our efforts with a book giveaway. I’ll try to pass along something from my pan that’s caught my eye and been a help to me. After all, the Head Prospector said a gold nugget is better when you give it away.
Join Our Merry Band
Well, now that you know what we’re about, feel free to take a look around. If you like what you see, grab a pan and join the Pyrite Posse. We’ll save a spot for you.
