I’m on the hunt for the strangest school mascot. The ones I had growing up were pretty normal: the Rockets, the Braves, and the Yellow Jackets. I will say, however, that there was a middle school in my district called Possum Middle School. Their mascot was an eagle. Possum Eagles. Go figure.
What were your mascots?

We were the Stephen F. Ausin “LumberJacks.”
It was always kinda strange at the football games to see a chiseled guy in Plaid and Red Suspenders going around swatting the other animal-suit mascotts with a double bladed axe. But, whatever. Ax’em Jacks!

Starting from high school: Robert E. Lee Generals (which is weird since I grew up in New York :)), Samford Bulldogs, University of Alabama Crimson Tide, with the mighty elephant as our mascot.

I went to Central Bucks, which was the name of the county. So our mascot was a buck. Our yearbook was called the Antler.

The North Mason Marigolds…ok seriously, the north mason bulldogs (and I think the actual image must have been straight out of a “Clip Art: School Mascot Pack” because I have seen the exact same bulldog all across the country).
That was my freshman-sophomore year. When I moved I became a part of the American School of Doha Dragons.
Nothing strange really.
A college in Oregon has a banana slug for a mascot I believe. For all you folks not wise to the wonders of the Pacific Northwest, check out these creatures online.

Mine was an Eagle, but GJ (the treasurer on SGA from the Netherlands) had a Rainbow as his school mascot! A Giant Rainbow Man running around just makes me laugh! :)

I have two pretty strange ones for you:
My college - the Lee University Flames.
The high school I currently teach at - the Central High Pounders.
