This time of year, our neighborhood is teeming with ice cream trucks. Each one playing a different song. Each one pawning its chilly wares. I have wondered on more than one occasion how the drivers maintain their sanity. I think hearing 800 tin-can repetitions of “It’s a Small World After All” during the course of the day would just about do me in. But that’s just me.
How about you? What are some less-than-appealing jobs you have either had or heard of?

It’s a hypothetical job, but one I shudder to imagine -
Dragon Proctologist
Not hypothetical - Hardest/worst job I ever had was being a banquet server
Stuffy customers - 300-500 at a time
Large obstacle courses full of shifting bodies, dangling purses, other aggravated waiters, and expensive furs, suits, and dresses - all ready to be destroyed by falling glasses of wine and pumpkin bisque (and thats as gross as it sounds)
All the while managing large heavy serving trays stacked high with flesh scorching plates of fillet mignon or ever shifting glasses of notorious-stain producing red wine
But it paid like 200 a night - what some will do for a little green…

My wife reckons that working in an undertakers would be the worst, but I’d hate to be a decorator - purely because the worste job in the world is hanging wallpaper.

My favorite ice cream truck is the creepy sounding one that plays Bach (?) and sounds like it’s battery is dying. It’s like something out of a horror flick.
As for a job…. I think working at a Caribou in the skyway was my craziest job… lines out the door and around the corner for 2 hours straight every morning. It was so busy that I never got up the guts to work anywhere but the cash register. (And this after having worked at a coffee stand in Spokane for 2 years). I only lasted about 2 months there. It was really like working fast food, only coffee.
